What's to Come in 2019

For the 2018 vintage we are excited to announce two new wines from the Santa Ynez Valley and Bennett Valley:
Which will be release July 1, 2019

2018 Traverse "Jurassic Park" Chenin Blanc, Santa Ynez Valley:

This unique site was planted in 1978 on own-roots. It sits at 1100ft in elevation on sandy, well-drained limestone rich soils. We foot-treaded 50% of the fruit before pressing it off to ferment in neutral oak and stainless steel drums. After primary fermentation was complete we racked all the vessels together to homogenize the wine before returning it to all neutral french oak barrels to age on the lees. We're very excited about this wine and couldn't be happier that it'll be our first white wine for Traverse.

2018 Traverse "Rancho Rocoso " Cabernet Franc, Bennett Valley

Certified organic, this vineyard sits in a rare pocket of the valley. The dominant soil being clear lake clay in this area of Sonoma County, however Rancho Rocoso has much more of a rocky silty loam surface soil. The vineyard is planted entirely to Cabernet Franc. Hand harvested and with typical cab franc reddish stems, we fermented these grapes 75% whole cluster with native yeasts. After pressing, we barreled the wine down to neutral french oak barrels.

We are looking forward to sharing these wines with you July 1, 2019!
